Black Student Movement Statement of Purpose

Document Description: Preston Dobbins created the Black Student Movement (BSM) on November 7, 1967 by leading the vote to disassemble the campus chapter of the NAACP and create the BSM. This statement of purpose for the BSM was handwritten by Dobbins a month later, when the BSM filed for official recognition from the University as a student organization.
