Letter from the Occupants of South Building to Chancellor Hardin

Document Description: On April 1st, 1992 students began a two-week long sit-in in South Building. After delivering a letter to Chancellor Hardin, signed by “The Occupants,” a core group of students including members of the Black Awareness Council, the Student Environmental Action Coalition, and the Campus Y began a sit-in in the rotunda of South Building. Seventeen individuals were arrested on April 15th after refusing to vacate Hardin’s office.
